Throttle Body Bushing Service – The throttle body shaft bore wears out generally at around 50,000 miles which causes vacuum leaks at the throttle shafts and in extreme cases may even cause throttle plate binding. We have seen these shafts worn out on throttle body sets at 29,000, 37,000, 39,000 and 42,000 miles, the rear throttle body is usually worn the most of the two. The shafts are steel which are pressed into a cast throttle body from the factory with no bushing and over time they wear out. The result of this wear is; vacuum leaks, poor performing vehicle with high erratic idle at cold startup, rough idle when warm and poor cruise, not to mention making it impossible to balance the throttle bodies correctly. With our bushing service we will install self-lubricating bronze bushings to provide many thousands of miles of trouble free use and you may never need to have them rebushed again.
Throttle Body Boring Service – We now do throttle body boring. The size is two inche only. This includes new two inch throttle plates and new throttle shaft bushings. The throttle bodies are returned completely assembled and ready to be installed. Larger throttle body bore sizes will be avaiable at a later date. Please contact us for more information and pricing. |
